I was able to finish all the bath bombs yesterday, make cards for them, and package them all this morning. Yay for insomnia!!! Now I have 15 packages for female family members at our gathering at Aunt J's tonight, and some loose ones for neighbours and friends at work.
I wrapped each bomb up in a small square of clear cling wrap. I had some cello bags leftover from Christmas baking from last year, so I packed three bombs per bag; two lavender and one herbal citrus. Twisted the top, and tied with white curling ribbon, slipping the ribbon through the holes in the card, before tying and curling.
I think they look rather nice. Too bad I did not plan far enough ahead of time to make something for the men in the group - maybe next year, some baked goods or something.
Here is the card I made. I used one of the Sizzix sets, with my new Cuttlebug. It has a die which cuts the leaves and berries of the mistletoe from coloured cardstock, and an embossing folder to add all the embellishment. I used a bit of stamping ink to highlight the embossed details. Then I took some rectangles of white cardstock, and folded it into card shapes - using a Martha Stewart paper crafting station I treated myself to in the summer .
Using roller glue, I assembled the mistletoe on the font of the cards and punched two holes into the top for the ribbon to come through.
Doesn't the embossing look phenomenal?
Then on the inside, I had some free stamps from a UK magazine I bought recently, one of which I used to stamp a simple image on the inside. Then I used a gold gel pen to pen a simple message - Wishing you peace and joy in the new year...
I think that they turned out quite nice, and I may have to motivate myself to do the same a bit earlier next year, perhaps in time to have a bunch ready for the gals at work and for our annual gathering.
