I made this up for another craftster who likes to sew; a little mason jar organizer that has a pin cushion on top, to match the red fabric workbasket I posted about the other day. I reused a mason I had from my stash (thank goodness for neighbours and friends who actually give me back my jars after they are done with the foody goodness within).

| The pouf is quite pouffy isn't it?? |
They are very easy to make. I just etched the label area in the front, using painters tape and stickers as a resist - easy peasy. Then I used the flat inner lid, piled batting on top, and wrapped fabric around. I used some E6000 glue on the upper edge and used the outer ring to close the lid onto the bottle to help the glue set - I used an elastic on the underside to hold the fabric edges in place. When the glue on top set, I undid the lid, and the elastic, and added glue underneath, and used a needle and thread to gather the edges together more neatly.
I also added some shrink plastic embellished pins on top - what is a pin cushion without pretty pins afterall?!
I made the pouf pin cushion extra pouffy for a reason - I hade when needle tips bend or break, and figure if I made an extra plump cushion, there may be less chance of the tips smacking in the metal lid underneath and blunting or bending them.
